Camp New Hope is a safe, supportive environment professionally staffed and organized to meet the needs of each camper. Our campers will gain self-acceptance, further knowledge of their diagnosis, self-care techniques, and build community in a fun setting.
Pediatric bipolar disorder is a life threatening neurobiological disorder. Children and adolescents who suffer from it often experience complex and disruptive side effects resulting from their treatments, and unfortunately often feel isolated and alone.
Camp New Hope offers an opportunity for children and adolescents ages 9-17 with bipolar disorder to connect with like peers, build community, camaraderie, and friendship, and to have fun in a safe, supportive, closely supervised, beautiful outdoor environment.
Our camp currently serves children and adolescents living in Northern California.

Typically, campers are divided into 4 groups- ages 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-17. The tentative counselor to camper ratios is: 1:2 for 9-10, 11-12, 1:3 for 13-14, and 1:4 for 15-17 (if staff is available we will maintain a ratio of 1:3 for this age group). We cannot provide 1:1 care.
We anticipate 12 campers in each group with an attempt to have equal numbers of boys to girls. There will be separate cabins for females and males, which are staffed with 3 or more counselors and aides per cabin.
